The Method

“My dog is so smart”. We have heard pet parents say this time and again. Our response? “You have NO idea.” Humans are constantly underestimating their dog’s intelligence and abilities. At Prep School, dogs are pushed to reach their full potential by a staff of canine experts with nothing BUT time to spend on YOUR dog.

For up to 7 hours each day, canine students are divided into classroom packs of 8-12 with a dedicated certified teacher and an additional teaching assistant. This ratio allows dogs to be challenged with their peers as distractions while still leaving room for individualized instruction when needed. The concentrated instruction is then supplemented with guided off-leash training (for socialization and exercise) and an enforced nap (for mental stability and growth). The unique curriculum and the variety of ways progress is tracked makes this program the only one in San Diego designed to produce a balanced and obedient dog over the long term (as opposed to other short term training programs that often result in short term changes) Commands are introduced in a way that balances variety and repetition (check out the @packmethodprep Instagram stories for a sample of this). Students are kept on their toes with a curriculum that changes each week AND the addition of some extracurricular brain games like basic tricks and bonding through toy play.

Parents are kept in the loop through INCLUDED private sessions with a trainer. Our students leave school each day tired, and satisfied. The Prep School Method wasn’t built in a day. It was created by a team of canine professionals and honed for over 3 years so you can truly have the dog you keep bragging about.
